Lesson Plan: Understanding Immigrants: Using Duffy's Cut to Understand the Conditions of United States Immigrant Groups

Understanding immigrant cultures in the United States is more important than ever due to the current political climate.
Xenophobia and nativism is firmly entrenched in some American’s minds and it is important to teach young students truths about immigrants and how to empathize with these cultures. The following unit presents some lessons plans that encourages students to work through their biases and think about immigrant groups in a new light.
